Introduction

Reach For Change Ethiopia, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is leading an initiative to support and empower innovative Edtech entrepreneurs through the Edtech Fellowship Program. To enhance the visibility and influence of the program, we seek a headline media partner to amplify the initiative, especially within Ethiopia’s Edtech community. The media partner will play a crucial role in promoting key activities, including the search and selection of fellows, publicizing program milestones, and showcasing the program’s impact on the education ecosystem.

Objectives

  • Amplify  Program Visibility: Raise awareness of the Mastercard Foundation Edtech Fellowship Program within the Edtech community, positioning it as a premier initiative for social impact and innovation.
  • Support Search and Selection: Promote the call for applications and generate awareness about the search and selection process for Edtech entrepreneurs, encouraging high-quality applicants.
  • Promote  Program  Milestones:  Highlight  key  moments  such  as  fellow announcements, demo days, and significant achievements of Edtech fellows.
  • Engage   Target   Audience:  Reach  and  engage  the  Edtech  ecosystem, including entrepreneurs, educators, investors, policymakers, and potential partners.
  • Foster  Partnerships:  Help  position  the  program  as  a  leader  in  Edtech innovation, attracting collaboration opportunities with strategic partners and stakeholders.

Scope of Work

The selected media partner will support the Mastercard Foundation Edtech Fellowship Program by creating, distributing, and promoting media content across various channels. The scope includes:

Media Coverage:

  • Program  Promotion:  Create  and  distribute  media  content  promoting  the Edtech Fellowship Program, targeting Edtech entrepreneurs and innovators, especially during the search and selection phases.
  • Event  Coverage: Provide  live  or  recorded  coverage  of  key  events  such  as application launches, demo days, and final selection announcements.
  • Fellow  Profiles  and  Success  Stories:  Feature  stories  and  interviews  with selected Edtech fellows, showcasing their work, impact, and how the program has empowered them.

Sponsored and Promotional Content:

  • Targeted Articles: Publish articles aimed at engaging the Edtech community, raising awareness about the program’s benefits, and driving potential applicants to apply.
  • Video and Radio Features: Create promotional videos and radio segments to spotlight program announcements, events, and milestones.

Social Media and Digital Engagement:

  • Online Campaigns: Co-create and execute digital campaigns that promote the search and selection of fellows, demo days, and overall program visibility.
  • Social Media Promotion: Leverage both the media partner’s and Reach For Change’s social media platforms to increase engagement with Edtech stakeholders and foster community building around the program.

Exclusive Partner Rights:

  • Brand  Recognition:  The  media  partner  will  be  recognized  as  the  official headline media partner for the Mastercard Foundation Edtech Fellowship Program, with exclusive branding rights across all promotional activities.
  • Access to Exclusive Content: The media partner will have priority access to exclusive interviews with fellows, program announcements, and events.

Media Partner Platforms

The selected media partner must have their own diverse media platforms, including digital, print, radio, and television channels, and the ability to place content on

external media for Reach For Change. This ensures comprehensive coverage and expanded visibility within the Edtech ecosystem.

  • Timeline (6-Month Partnership)

The media partnership will run for an initial period of 6 months, focusing on:

Cohort Two Search and Selection (Months 1-2)

  • Promote the call for applications and generate awareness about eligibility criteria.
    • Encourage high-quality applications through targeted media outreach.

Fellowship Development and Profiling (Months 3-5)

  • Profile the current Edtech fellows and highlight their progress and impact through feature stories and interviews.
    • Publicize the program’s impact reports and promote fellows’ work within the Edtech ecosystem.

Demo Day and Fellowship Milestones (Months 4)

  • Provide comprehensive coverage of Demo Day, promoting the fellows’ achievements.
  • Share program milestones and report on the impact of the Edtech Fellowship Program to the wider community.

Evaluation and Selection

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Audience  Reach  and  Influence:  Ability  to  engage key stakeholders in the Edtech community.
    • Alignment  with  Program  Objectives:  The  proposal’s  alignment  with  the program’s visibility goals, applicant attraction, and ecosystem engagement.
    • Creativity   and   Innovation:   The   media   partner’s   capacity  to  produce compelling content that resonates with the target audience.
    • Cost-Effectiveness: The value of media coverage in relation to the proposed costs.

Partnership Terms

  • Contractual  Agreement:  The  selected  media  partner  will  enter  a formal agreement with Reach For Change Ethiopia for an initial 6-month partnership.
  • Exclusivity  and  Branding:  Reach  For  Change  Ethiopia  will  recognize  the media partner as the exclusive headline media partner, granting branding opportunities across all campaigns and events.
    • Performance  Monitoring:  Regular  evaluations will be conducted to ensure the objectives around program amplification and audience engagement are being met.

Media Partner Requirements

To ensure successful collaboration, the media partner must demonstrate:

  • Reach and Influence: A strong audience base within the Edtech community, including entrepreneurs, educators, and investors.
    • Ability to Engage the Edtech Sector: Proven capacity to craft and distribute content that encourages engagement from the Edtech ecosystem.
    • Support for Program Activities: Demonstrated ability to amplify search and selection campaigns, generate interest in program events, and attract applicants and partners.
    • Diverse Media Platforms: Access to digital, print, radio, and TV platforms to ensure wide-ranging coverage and audience engagement.

Submission Requirements

Interested media organizations are required to submit the following:

  • Company   Profile:   Overview   of   the   media   outlet,   including  audience demographics, platforms, and reach within the Edtech and broader education sectors.
    • Proposal: A tailored proposal outlining how the media partner will support the Mastercard   Foundation   Edtech   Fellowship   Program,   including  content strategy, media channels, and creative ideas.
    • Reach Metrics: Evidence of audience engagement rates, influence within the Edtech space, and media platform statistics.
    • Creative Approaches: Suggestions for innovative ways to promote the search and selection process and increase visibility of program milestones.
