Job Title – Software QA Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Software QA Engineer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience to take end-to-end ownership of quality assurance across our products. The candidate will own the testing strategy from the ground up — defining test cases and golden paths, building and maintaining automation, and validating functionality, performance, and business logic across both frontend and backend services. This is a hands-on role for someone who can work independently, set the QA bar for the team, and keep it well documented.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the QA process end to end — from test planning and case design through execution, automation, and sign-off.
• Define test cases, golden paths, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for frontend and backend services.
• Perform functional testing of frontend UI flows and backend service/API behavior.
• Design and execute load and performance tests to validate system behavior under expected and peak traffic.
• Develop and run business case / end-to-end scenario tests that reflect real-world usage of the product.
• Identify, document, and track defects clearly, working with engineering to drive them to resolution.
• Maintain clear, up-to-date test documentation, including test plans, test case libraries, and golden path references.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to understand requirements and assess risk areas.
• Continuously improve QA processes, tooling, and coverage as the product and architecture evolve.

About You

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of professional, hands-on experience in software QA / test engineering.
• Proven ability to independently own QA and testing strategy for a product or service, not just execute predefined scripts.
• Strong experience designing test cases, test plans, and golden paths, with clear supporting documentation.
• Hands-on experience testing frontend applications (UI/UX flows, cross-browser behavior, functional correctness).
• Hands-on experience testing backend services and APIs (functional, integration, and regression testing).
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools for both frontend and backend testing.
• Experience designing and running load and performance tests, and interpreting the results.
• Ability to design and execute business case / scenario-based tests that validate real user and system workflows.
• Comfortable working with Git for version control of test code and test assets.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and how it affects test strategy and environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience testing systems built on C#/.NET and/or Java/Spring Boot backends, and Next.js frontends.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL for test data setup, validation, and query-level checks.
• Experience testing services running in containerized/Kubernetes (K8s) environments.
• Exposure to observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki to support performance testing and defect triage.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Soft Skills & Other Requirements

• Strong ownership mindset — able to define and drive the QA process rather than simply following a script.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills, working closely with developers and product teams.
• Fluency in English, spoken and written.
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical, structured approach to testing.
• Good written communication skills for producing clear test documentation and defect reports.
• Ability to prioritize and manage testing effort across multiple features and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
