Job Summary
The Senior Logistics Officer is responsible for managing and optimizing the logistics operations of the company, including order fulfillment, last-mile delivery, and fleet management. This role ensures the timely and efficient delivery of customer orders, oversees fleet performance, and maintains compliance with operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Logistics and Additional Responsibilities

Strategic Logistics Planning:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize operations and meet customer demands.
  • Forecast resource requirements based on order volume and market trends.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Utilize logistics management tools to monitor and improve operational efficiency.
    Stay updated with logistics innovations and integrate them into the company’s operations.

Vendor Relations:

  • Manage relationships with logistics vendors and negotiate contracts for cost-effective services.
     
  • Evaluate vendor performance regularly to ensure reliability.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve delivery speed and reduce errors.
  • Maintain KPIs to monitor and optimize logistics performance.

Order Management and Last-Mile Delivery

Order Fulfillment:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders from receipt through to last-mile delivery.
  • Develop strategies to enhance logistics workflows and streamline the picking, packing, and shipping processes.

Delivery Optimization:

  • Implement strategies to improve delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Focus on optimizing last-mile delivery through advanced route planning and logistics technology.

Cost Management:

  • Monitor and control logistics-related expenses, including transportation and delivery costs.
  • Prepare budgets and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Maintain effective communication with delivery teams and other departments to resolve logistical challenges.
     
  • Ensure the smooth flow of information between logistics operations and customer service.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team responsible for logistics and delivery.
  • Provide training and guidance to improve team performance in a fast-paced environment.

Fleet Management

Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Oversee the maintenance and performance of the company’s delivery fleet.
     
  • Ensure vehicles are in optimal condition for efficient delivery operations.

Cost Efficiency:

  • Monitor expenses such as fuel consumption and repairs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
     
  • Negotiate favorable terms for vehicle rentals and service agreements.

Operational Optimization:

  • Implement route optimization strategies to enhance delivery speed and reliability.
  • Manage vehicle rentals to supplement fleet capacity during high-demand periods.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all fleet operations comply with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain safety protocols.

Team Supervision:

  • Lead and support the fleet management team, fostering a high-performing work environment.

Customer Service Support

Customer Issue Resolution:

  • Collaborate with the customer service team to address delivery-related concerns.
     
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers regarding delivery updates and issues.

Information Flow:

  • Oversee the efficient transfer of information between logistics, customer service, and other stakeholders.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, or related fields.

Experience:

  •   Minimum of 3 years in logistics management, with expertise in last-mile delivery. Proven ability to lead logistics teams and manage complex delivery networks.

Skills:

  •  Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Proficiency in logistics software and technology.

Preferred:

  • Experience in e-commerce or FMCG logistics.
