About the Job

Position Overview/Scope of role:

Responsible for all commercial and contract aspects of a project with a focus on client facing relationships and full contract/commercial performance reporting requirements. 

Top Roles and Responsibilities: 

·     Ensure that the contract is carried out in a cost-effective manner – manage the Cost Versus Allowable process and Commercial interface ensuring that the base contract profit is maintained.

·     Make sure that contract compliance is adhered to at all times.

·     Ensure that payment certificates are prepared and submitted monthly as per the timelines specified in the CSP.

·     Ensure that payments are effectively approved and paid by the Engineer/Client.

·     Manage the procurement team and make sure that they comply with the base commercial terms.

·     Carry out weekly Commercial meetings incorporating Change Management Control, Variations, Deviations, Procurement Analysis and Cost Versus Allowable impact.

·     Ensure that the Monthly Project Reports are accurate and issued per the requirements of the project reporting schedule.

 .    Update the CVA with Senior Management and make sure that the CTC and Monthly Costs are Managed in line with the commercial requirements of the project

·     Attend Monthly Cost meetings.

·     Carry out instructions as directed by Senior Management & Co-Ordinate the Project requirements ensuring that the Project is delivered on time and in budget.

·     Understands and Manages Contract conditions and requirements (PPA, FIDIC, Time & Cost Claims)  

·     Understands and Manages Commercial requirements: – payment certificates, variations, cost vs allowable, P&G etc…    

·     Understands and Manages the Commercial Variables of the Project (Commercial Management) 

·     Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.

·     Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.

·     Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.

·     Assisting with undertaking feasibility studies and cost / benefit analysis.

·     To develop and maintain suitable methodologies to measure productivity and implement incentive schemes.

·     Carry out other duties and responsibilities, as required, and as requested by the other members of the management team.

About You

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study
  • Work experience  3 years and above
  • Working in similar role in a construction company specializing in Road and Bridge construction projects.
  • Candidate with International company experience will be given priority
  • Must be aligned, Commercially Aware, Honest and Shows high levels of Integrity.
