About the Job

The Opportunity

The Log Assistant, Warehouse & Asset is responsible to manage and operate warehouse activities including receipt, storage, control, and issuance of supplies and equipment; receives deliveries, coordinating stock, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining records, and overseeing storage of fixed assets, records the property of the PA/field Office, and conduct inventory and Mainly manages GIK commodities (RUSF, CSB++, and Other) as per Plan International GIK (Gifts In Kind) SOP and WFP warehouse standards. S/he ensures accurate receipt via LESS Last Mile, FEFO/FIFO stock management, Stock reporting, pest/humidity control, and asset tracking to support TSFP achieving >85% MAM coverage with zero stock-outs.

The post holder also plans, organizes, and controls stores /stocks in a professional manner ensuring prompt, efficient and quality service to the concerned units including but not limited to ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and securing food and non-food items as per the location requirements, contractual specifications and in line with store and fixed assets management instruction.

Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted,

Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.

Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;

Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.

About You

  • BA/Diploma in Business Administration, Purchasing & Supplies Management, and/or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • At least three years of experience in storekeeping, warehousing, stock control, or related work in INGO.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office software suite.
  • Ability to solve problems, take initiative, and plan the tasks
  • Flexibility with time to work extra hours when the project requires
  • Must have knowledge and experience in storekeeping.
  • Knowledge in basic bookkeeping.
  • Must be keen on details.
  • Must have strong built to carry supplies.
  • Strong human relations skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good team building and motivational skills.
  • Ability to organize own work and a high value for time management.
  • Working with a minimum level of supervision
  • Honest and trustworthy.

Qualifications/ experience desirable:

  • BA/Diploma in Business Administration, Purchasing & Supplies Management, and/or other related disciplines.
