Description of the position

The Liaison Officer is working closely with the Country Director. The position is the go-to person for handling all the administrative paperwork—whether it’s visas, work permits, or project agreements—while keeping an eye on any changes in local regulations. If you love building strong relationships with officials and have a talent for navigating administrative procedures, this role is for you!

The Liaison Officer of Solidarités International (SI) in Ethiopia is in charge of monitoring regulatory changes, strengthening relations with local administrative bodies, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures. Responsibilities include regular meetings with government representatives to secure necessary documents and resolve related issues on behalf of SI, as well as keeping the Country Director informed of any regulatory updates that could affect the organization.

Key tasks involve drafting, submitting, and tracking various legal documents, such as project agreements and work permits, with close attention to deadlines and renewals. The officer will also maintain document records in compliance with SI and Ethiopian standards. Other duties include translating official documents, providing interpretation during meetings, securely archiving records, and assisting with audits preparation liaising with relevant authorities.

About You

Profile desired

Studies: Bachelor’s or equivalent, in a relevant field is an asset

Experience: Proven experience in dealing with administrative process and bodies, Experience in similar positions in INGOs is a plus, experience of working with authorities is an asset

Languages: English proficiency is essential; Amharic fluency is essential, other local languages is an asset.

Skills: external representation, dialogue with authorities.

Qualities: excellent communicator, trustworthiness and a sense of responsibility, organizational skills, support-oriented, responsible, problem-solving and quick to react.
