Dodai is a fast growing organization with a mission of making e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa through its innovative products and services. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa and plans to expand to major regional cities in Ethiopia by the end of 2026. Purpose of the Position
The Jr. Assembly Technician for Dodai will be part of the manufacturing team and will be responsible for the assembly of electric two wheelers (E2W) in an efficient manner. S/he will be responsible for constructing the small parts and components that make up the E2W to create a new product according to the specifications provided by the Factory Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex and advanced assembly of products according to established specifications and instructions.
- Perform high-precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments.
- Develop assembly and test procedures to promote production of quality products.
- Ensure all registration documents of E2W are maintained according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform equipment assembly according to engineering drawings.
- Perform cleaning of all parts as per established cleaning procedures.
- Provide support for material handling and material movement activities with the warehouse team.
- Work together with the quality assurance team to detect and resolve any product defects or issues during the assembly process, conduct testing on products for performance evaluation, and document the outcomes.
- Perform installation, rework, inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting, and adjusting products as required.
- Support the implementation of health and safety initiatives in the manufacturing facility to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Provide input to improve product design, assembly processes, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Participate in continuous training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge related to electric two-wheeler assembly.
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining required quality and safety standards.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and engineering specifications during assembly operations.
- Maintain 5S standards by keeping the workstation clean, organized, and free from safety hazards.
- Properly use, inspect, and maintain assigned tools and equipment, reporting any damage or calibration issues.
- Complete any required production and assembly records accurately according to company procedures and requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Hardware & Engineering teams.
- Perform other tasks as directed by your supervisor
About You
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely related fields or TVET graduate in relevant field
- 6 months to 1 year experience working in a factory setting with similar products (E2W, E3W etc.),
- Sound knowledge of industry-specific factory equipment.
- Preferably proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to multitask.
- Outstanding time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
