Organizational Context and Scope 

Ethiopian Civil Society Organization Forum (ECSF) – is a non-partisan, impartial, Inclusive and voluntary national platform established in 2013 and also re-registered under the new  Ethiopia Civil Society organization Proclamation number 1113/2019 by Authority for Civil Society Organizations with certificate number 4414. ECSF is also a network of network that embraces more than 54 consortiums in the country, which comprise more than 1,500 members under the 54 consortia. The Forum has peculiar experience in bringing several networks and engages them for the common national agendas The vision of the Forum is to see effective, responsive and accountable governance in Ethiopia with active civil society participation by 2050 and the aim is to address the shared issues and difficulties faced Ethiopia’s CSO sector, including a lack of coordination, consortia, and networks, as well as the deteriorating relationship between CSOs and the Ethiopian government after the 2005 Election, were cited as reasons for the foundation of the ECSF.

Core Functions and Responsibilities 

Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations Forum is seeking to hire Finance and Administration Head  who ensures smooth financial operation of Project’s activities and follows up on all financial transactions; caries out day-to-day financial transactions; Prepares reports as scheduled; provides support to prepare annual and quarterly work plans and budgets as well as special report as required for financial planning in consultation with the Project Manager; and prepares detailed cost estimates and participates in budget preparation, analysis and projections.

Contract type 

  •  The type of contract is a fixed term and renewal modality.

Duration of the position : Two years (renewable).

About You

Qualification and experience 

  • University Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Interested applicants must have at least four years of relevant finance and/or administrative experience in programme/project support services (Accounts and Financial management) in development projects; knowledge of IPSAS system and others accounting software including Peachtree, Quick Book, etc are highly  required. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and experience in handling of web-based management systems. Ability to plan own work, setting priorities and completing it under pressure or when faced with competing demands

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification 

  • University Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or alternatively an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.

Professional Experience 

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in finance and accounting as well as administration. 
  • Experience in NGOs & International organizations is an asset;
  • Ability to coordinate administrative activities
  • Sound knowledge of financial and administrative management and effective resource management skills 
  • Knowledge of Peachtree is highly advantageous
  • High level of computer literacy (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook) in particular experience in computerized accounting systems including IPSAS application
  • Having good knowledge and experiences of CSSP2, EU and USAID projects Financial procedure and principles are highly demanding

Languages

  • Thorough knowledge of spoken and written English and Amharic 
  • Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous
