Purpose of the Job

The purpose of the job is to design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems to ensure the reliable and automated control of production processes. This role is critical in optimizing plant efficiency, maintaining operational safety, and improving product quality within the glass bottle manufacturing environment.

Major duties and Responsibilities

·       Designs, develops, and modifies PLC programs to control automated systems within production operations.

·       Integrates advanced automation techniques to enhance production efficiency and minimizes downtime and implement control logic, sequencing, and system integration for various equipment.

·     Conducts routine inspections and testing of automation equipment and diagnoses and resolves issues related to SCADA, PLCs, sensors, HMIs, and networked systems ensuring reliability.

·       Maintain electrical control panels, identifying potential failures and preventing disruptions.

·       Works with engineering and maintenance teams during system upgrades or new installations.

·       Assists in designing automation strategies to improve workflow and minimize manual intervention.

·       Supports operators and maintenance personnel with technical assistance and troubleshooting guidance.

·       Taking backups for each system in the plant in regular interval and keep in safe area for any troubleshooting.

·     Maintains records of programming changes, system configurations, and maintenance activities and develops technical manuals and system documentation for future reference.

·       Involve in any electrical system failures in the plant whenever required.

·       Train the junior automation Engineer and the rest of the electricians on automation troubleshooting.

·       Ensures that all PLC and automation systems comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

·       Configure and optimize SCADA/HMI interfaces for real-time production monitoring and control

·       Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

About You

Required Knowledge and skills (Competence)

Education

• BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
• Additional training in PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, etc.), HMI/SCADA development.
• Certification in industrial automation or safety (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience

• Minimum of 6 years in industrial automation, PLC programming, SCADA/HMI systems, and manufacturing plant operations preferably in Glass bottle or Beverage industry
