About the Job

Under the direction of Area Program Manager, the Sales and Promotion Officer is responsible in achieving sales KPIs and contributing to the overall growth and succusses of MSIE social marketing business program. The SPO shall act as the key link between MSIE and customers in the respective region. As SPO, the goal is to increase the visibility and awareness of the Company’s sales products (pharmaceutical and clinical medical) and maximize sales growth. The SPO is also responsible for overseeing the implementation of the marketing activities and promoting MSIE brands in the assigned sales region. 

Key Responsibilities

Building Business Opportunities

  • Assess clients’ needs and present the value proposition of products that are being avail using social marketing techniques to the customers. 
  • Promote and sell MSIE products and services to potential customers
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets and objectives set by the Department.
  • Conduct market assessment to stay updated on the social marketing industry, competitors’ activities, and customer preferences.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring all basket products of MSIE are delivered on timely basis. 
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and new potential customers.

Maintaining Business Relationships

  • Build and maintain storing relationships with customers ensuring their product needs are met as per agreed time and route plans
  • Provide product information and deliver product samples
  • Submit collected orders by referring to price lists and product basket situations.
  • Work with sales team to develop strategies and implement brand strategies to ensure a consistent marketing message
  • Collect customer complaints and submit to their line manager for further investigation and providing solutions.
  • Implement the solutions provided by the line manager by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Ensure that all customers i.e., wholesalers, pharmacies, drug stores, rural drug venders and clinics have their own legally certified license and stamp.
  • Monitor/ensure the delivery of products to the respective MSI ETHIOPIA REPRODUCTIVE CHOICES networked clinics, and customers. Report if there is any difficulty on time.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets given by the department.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Keep accurate records sales transaction and customer information using sales tracking technologies.
  • Keep the line manager informed by submitting activity and results reports, (such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses) of performances on agreed targets for follow up.
  • Provide historical customer records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.

Learning

  • Stay up to date on product knowledge, features and benefits to effectively communicate vale proposition to customers
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Monitor and analyse data and market conditions to identify competitive advantage
  • Pursue continuous learning and professional development and stay up to date with latest medical data
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshop/trainings/capacity buildings designed by MSI ETHIOPIA REPRODUCTIVE CHOICES

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a pharmaceutical rep or in medical sales
  • Familiarity with databases, statistics, product lines and latest medical issues
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and sales skills
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Passionate defender of women’s sexual and reproductive health rights

About You

Educational Requirement

BS degree in Pharmacy or diploma/10+4 in Pharmacy (Druggist)

  1. Education Qualification: BS degree in Pharmacy and two years in pharmaceuticals sales or diploma/10+4 in Pharmacy (Druggist) and 4 years of pharmaceuticals sales
  2. Desirable Experience: 

Degree in Pharmacy 2 years and for Druggist 4 years
